Heal the Inner Child

Inner-child work is a powerful tool for healing from psychological trauma, dysfunctional patterns, and self-harming behaviours. The inner-child is not a literal child, it is a metaphorical “little you”. The part of your psyche that is still childlike, innocent, and full of wonder. Human beings are multi-dimensional, with discovering, working and integrating all of our unique parts, we can heal and deepen in self-awareness.

Do you ever hear that little voice inside of you? No matter how old we are, we carry our younger selves within us, it is always there, where ever we go. Caring for this younger version of ourselves is what inner child healing is all about. Inner child healing is a way to address our needs that haven't been met as children and heal the wounds, trauma or grief we have developed in our childhood. We all have a younger part of ourselves that was "never quite loved the way we needed as a child."

Inner healing is the act of going inside ourselves, to explore our true feelings and parts of us that may have been neglected, rejected or labelled as "inappropriate" or "too much" by others. By allowing ourselves time to go within, we begin peeling back our everyday coping mechanisms (being avoidant, numbing or suppressing our feelings, etc.) and are able to fully accept and integrate our subconscious into consciousness.

FEAR…I have no control. FEAR….The way I react to situations. FEAR….Saying the wrong thing. FEAR….No one understands me. FEAR….That people judge me.

GAIN… Self-worth. GAIN….Clarity and guidance. GAIN….Happier outlook on life. GAIN….Positive changes. GAIN….Calm and harmony within. GAIN…Rediscovering life.
